Lundy Day turned aside 38 shots in the Union College women's ice hockey team's 4-0 loss at Yale on Saturday afternoon. The Bulldogs were led by a pair of goals from Bray Ketchum to improve to 10-15-1 and 6-12-1 in ECAC Hockey play. Union goes to 2-27-3 and 0-19-1 in the conference.
Day had her 18th 35-play save performance of the year by making 15 stops in the first, eight in the second and 15 in the third. With only two games remaining in her collegiate career, Day has registered 2,183 saves in two years at Union.
The Dutchwomen stayed out of the box, only committing three penalties in the contest. When called upon, the penalty kill shut down all three Yale opportunities.
Jackee Snikeris made 17 saves for her sixth win of the season and the Bulldogs held a 42-17 advantage in shots.
The Bulldogs got second period scoring from Alyssa Clarke at 7:54 and Ketchum at 10:38.
Ketchum added the game's fourth goal at 6:44 of the third, but not before Crysti Howser scored 49 seconds into the period.
Union puts the finishing touches on its season next weekend when Colgate comes to Messa Rink on Friday, Feb. 20 at 7 p.m. Cornell follows on Saturday, Feb. 21 at 4 p.m. Both outings will be part of Union's Pink at the Rink cancer awareness campaign.
