Kelly Zajac each scored as the Union College men's ice hockey team skated to a 2-2 tie at Colgate on Friday. The tie keeps Union in eighth place in the conference with an 8-9-2 ECAC Hockey record and a 15-13-3 overall mark. Colgate goes to 4-11-4 in league action and 6-16-6 on the season.
Walters had Union's first goal after senior forward

Adam Presizniuk worked the puck along the right boards. Presizniuk then hit Walters on the doorstop for a one-timer at 8:43. The power-play tally marked Union's 10th power-play goal in 13 games.
For Walters it was his team-leading ninth goal and 19th point of the season during ECAC Hockey games. The goal was also his third power-play tally of the season, giving him 11 goals and 25 points overall.
Presizniuk, the team-points leader, registered his 17th assist of the season, for his 30th point. Lowe's Senior Class Award finalist
Matt Cook earned the second helper – his 10th of the year.

Union held a 37-27 shot advantage and sophomore goaltender
Corey Milan made 25 saves.
While the Union defense limited Colgate's scoring chances – Milan made seven saves – Red Raiders' goaltender Charles Long (35 saves) was busy at the other end, making 13 saves in the first. He robbed Walters early on a one-timer and sophomore forward
John Simpson was denied of his six goal of the season with a goal-line glove save during Union's second power play.
Milan was called upon to keep Union in the lead during the second. He made 10 saves during the period, including a split save during a shorthanded breakaway by Colgate's leading scorer David McIntyre.
Milan and the Dutchmen killed three penalties during the period and held the Red Raiders to only four shots during the six minutes.
Colgate tied the game at 1-1 with a goal from Ethan Cox at 14:12 of the third on a helper from David Sloane.
Zajac pulled Union ahead, but the Red Raiders answered with 39 ticks remaining on Austin Smith's 12 goal of the season. Brian Day had the assist.
Union travels to No. 11 Cornell and Lynah Rink for a 7 p.m. contest on Saturday, Feb. 21.
