Women's Soccer loses in last second of OT

, NY – The Dutchwomen played 99:59 of scoreless until Cortland freshmen Stacey Wood netted the game-winning goal with one second remaining in the first overtime to give the Red Dragons at 1-0 win at College Park on Saturday. With the loss Union goes to 2-2-0, while Cortland improves to 4-0-0.
 
The Dutchwomen outshot the Red Dragons 16-12 and held a 6-2 advantage on corners throughout the game. Junior goalkeeper Abby Stohler made five saves, including three in the second half.

After scoreless soccer through regulation, Wood won a battle for the ball at the top of the box and fired a shot into the upper-right third of the net for her second goal of the season. Junior Carly Williams assisted on the score. 

Union returns to action on Sunday, Sept. 13 for a 3 p.m. contest against St. John Fisher.
