SCHENECTADY, NY – Behind two goals from second Katie Weinstein, the Union College women's soccer team cruised to a 6-1 win against St. John Fisher at College Park on Saturday. The Dutchwomen got contribution from five different student-athletes to go to 3-2-1. The visiting Cardinals go to 1-4-1.
Weinstein netted her second goal of the season and Union's third of the game at 21:17 when senior Bianca Germain sent a cross from the right side. Weinstein then scored her third goal of the year on a one-timer on a pass from junior Katie McLean at 68:05.
McLean found her way on the score sheet three times. The first came with her third goal of the season at 18:18 and she assisted on senior Allie Cuozzo's first goal of the year, which came at 59:02.
Freshman Michaela Katz tallied her first career goal -- Union's first of the game – at 8:31 on a rebound off a shot from junior Caitlin O'Donnell.
Sophomore Jessica Strang posted her third goal of the season to give Union a 4-0 lead at 34:42.
