CLINTON, NY -- Erika VanValkenberg had 36 assists for the day as the Union volleyball team rebounded from a loss to Liberty League rival Skidmore with a sweep over Gordon at the Hamilton Invitational Friday.
The Dutchwomen lost to the Thoroughbreds, 25-10, 25-2 and 25-22, but rebounded to defeat Gordon in three games by scores of 25-9, 25-22 and 25-22 to finish the day with an 8-7 overall record.
In the opener, VanValkenberg had 12 assists and
Veronica Mynders had a team best 12 digs.
Bridget Little finished with five blocks and Even Richards added five kills.
Union got 24 assists from VanValkenberg in the win over Gordon.
Rachel Ormsby had nine kills and Richards added seven kills with her nine digs. Freshman
Cristina Vazzana had nine digs.
The Dutchwomen face Regis Saturday at 1 p.m. and host Hamilton Saturday at 3 p.m.
