SCHENECTADY, NY -- Marc Zeyak scored twice and Sebastiaan Jensen assisted twice with a goal as the Union men's soccer team defeated Worcester State, 6-0 in the Union College Classic at College Park Saturday night. The Dutchmen won both games of the tourney to open the season, while the Lancers now stand 0-3 overall.
Union outshot the Lancers, 27-5, including 16-1 in building a 3-0 first half advantage. Other goal scorers for the Dutchmen wer Dan Dubrow, Jack Scott, and John Manna. Adam Marguilies played over 61 minutes and Ryan Green played over 28 minutes, stopping two, for the shutout.
Union had a 4-2 advantage in corners. Zeyak scored the first two goals of the game. At 6:26 he took a rebound of a punch out direction by goalkeeper Evan Wilga (Dudley, MA) and blasted home his second of the season. Jensen assisted on Zeyak's goal at 37:33 and also set up Dubrow's goal at 38:11 to end the first half scoring.
Jensen scored his second of the year when he interecepted an attempted clear and dribbled in along at 55:05. Scott (54:42) and Manna (71:53) wrapped up Union's second straight shutout win.
The Dutchmen return to action on September 12 to host RIT at 6 p.m.
