Box Score

SCHENECTADY, NY --
Jessica Strang scored two goals to lead the Union College women's soccer team to a 3-0 Liberty League victory over Clarkson University Friday at College Park Field. The Dutchwomen improved to 10-2 overall and 2-1 in the league while the Golden Knights fell to 4-8 overall and 0-3 in the league.

Melissa Scinto also tallied for the Dutchwomen, who posted a 21-7 shot advantage for the game. Stephanie Collins made nine saves in the Clarkson nets and Abby Stohler had one Union stop in over 77 minutes. Kayla Marti also made a save for the Dutchwomen in over 12 minutes of play.

Scinto's second of the year opened the scoring. At 21:17, she picked up a loose ball in a scramble in front of the Clarkson net, and shot it high over a leaping Collins for the 1-0 lead.

Strang notched #4 of the season just a few minutes later at 25:10. She picked up a rebound of a Melissa McDonald shot in the middle in front and tallied for the 2-0 advantage.

The Dutchwomen closed out the scoring at 73:41. A feed from midfield by Jackie Trevisani found Strang alone behind a defender, and she buried her second of the day and #5 of the year low and to the goalkeeper's right side.

Union had all seven corners for the contest.

The Dutchwomen host league rival St. Lawrence in a game now scheduled for 3 p.m. Saturday. Clarkson plays at league foe Skidmore at 2 p.m.
