PITTSFORD, NY -- Senior forward
Lauren McCormick scored a game high 17 points and also led all players with 13 rebounds for the Union College women's basketball team, but the Dutchwomen lost to Mount Union, 61-49 Saturday night. Union opened the season in this contest, the first game of the Woodcliff Hotel and Spa Invitational hosted by St. John Fisher.
McCormick recorded the seventh double double of her career, and had 10 of her rebounds on the defensive end. Guard

Lauren Hennessey, also captains with McCormick this season, had 13 and six points respectively. Freshman
Amy Loya added five points in her first career game for Union.
Mount Union (2-0) was led by Rosa LaMattina, who matched McCormick for a game high 17 points. LaMattina also had a team best nine rebounds. Katie Crider scored 13 and Kori Wiedt added 12, while Brittany Kilgore pulled down seven boards.
Mount Union had a 33-31 lead at halftime, and shot 30% for the night but had a 46-40 rebounding advantage. Union shot 31% and forced 23 turnovers.
The Dutchwomen will play in Sunday's consolation game vs. D'Youville at 1 p.m.
