PITTSFORD, NY - Senior forward Lauren McCormick led all players with 24 points and nine rebounds as the Union women's basketball team defeated D'Youville College, 64-49 on Sunday afternoon. Union (1-1) notched its first win of the year in the consolation game of the Woodcliff Hotel and Spa Invitational hosted by St. John Fisher.

Guard Leah Pepe notched 10 points and six rebounds, and forward Lauren Hennessey added eight points and eight rebounds for the Dutchwomen.

D'Youville (1-5) was led by Jen Sauer and Holly Beats who each had 12 points. Beats recorded a team-best seven rebounds.

Union held a 33-24 halftime lead, and shot 43.4% for the night. The Dutchwomen held a 43-27 rebounding edge, and forced 24 turnovers.

Union will host Middlebury College on Dec. 4 at 2:00 p.m. at the Viniar Athletic Center in their home opener.
