BENNINGTON, VT -- Sophomore guard Joe Mason scored 15 points and pulled down nine rebounds in helping to lead the Union men's basketball team to a 76-60 non-league win at Southern Vermont Thursday night. The Dutchmen are now 3-1 while the Mountaineers fell to 5-4.

Mason also dished out four assists and made six of his nine shots from the floor while finishing with just one turnover. Justin Gallo scored 14 points with six rebounds and Keven Donohue added 11 with nine rebounds and three assists. Matt Covucci scored 11 points in the victory for Union.

The Dutchmen shot 48% for the night and had a 43-25 halftime advantage. Union was extremely solid on the defensive glass, with 27 defensive rebounds. The Dutchmen had a 40-29 rebounding advantage over the Mountaineers.

Union returns home to the Viniar Athletic Center Saturday for a 3 p.m. game vs. Western New England.
