AUBURNDALE, Fla. - The Union College baseball team suffered two losses to #5 Trinity on Saturday on the Dutchmen's final day at the RussMatt Central Florida Baseball Tournament in Florida. The Dutchmen lost the first game by a score of 16-3 followed by a 17-3 loss in the evening cap.
Union finished 3-6 heading back north to New York.
In the second game, outfielder
John Johnson went 2-for-2 with two runs and two walks while catcher
Ethan Peck went 1-for-2 with two RBI. Peck hit a line drive to left center field in the fourth inning to send in outfielder
Nick Ranalli home from second and first baseman
Colin McKelligan home from third.
Union kept the game close, tying the game at one run apiece in the first inning and allowing two runs in three innings.
In the first game, Trinity scored all 16 runs in the first two innings. Johnson went 1-for-3 with a run scored. Pinch hitter turned catcher Marc Douglass went 1-for-1 with an RBI.
Reliever
Seth Roberts pitched four solid innings, allowing two runs on six hits.
The Dutchmen return north and travel to William Patterson for a single game on March 30. First pitch is at 3:30 p.m.
