SCHENECTADY, NY – The Union College men's lacrosse team is riding a six-game winning streak, while the women's team has played four ranked opponents in its first five games. Backstopping both teams are sophomore Sean Aaron and junior Cat Ruggiero, who statistically rank among the best in the nation.

 

Prior to Tuesday's 15-8 win against Cobleskill, Aaron ranked first in the country among netminders with more than one game played with a 0.754 save percentage, while his goals-against average of 4.90 was second. Aaron has helped the Dutchmen defense rank second overall in scoring defense (4.57) and sixth of man-down defense (89.4%).

 

Riggiero enters Thursday's contest against fourth-ranked Trinity with the nation's second-best save percentage of 0.635. She is averaging 13 stops per game, which is tied for the ninth highest.

 

The Dutchmen begin Liberty League play with a 4 p.m. game at Hamilton on Wednesday, Apr. 7, while the Dutchwomen's outing against Trinity at Frank Bailey Field begins at 5 p.m.
