SCHENECTADY, NY – Union College men's ice hockey junior
Stéphane Boileau has been named to the
2010 ESPN The Magazine/CoSIDA Academic All-America At-Large Second Team. The Men's At-Large program for the Academic All-America® includes the sports of fencing, golf, gymnastics, ice hockey, lacrosse, rifle, skiing, tennis and water polo.
Boileau is the second Dutchmen Academic All-American selection in as many years as
Matt Cook was named to the first team a year ago. A native of Blainville, Quebec, he is one of three student-athletes from ECAC Hockey to be named an All-American.
Boileau, who carries a 3.88 GPA in Neuroscience, was a finalist of the ECAC Hockey Student-Athlete of the Year award and will be making his second-straight appearance on the ECAC Hockey All-Academic team. The winner of the Thomas Vanarden Dukehard award for the highest GPA on the men's ice hockey team, Boileau was named Union College's junior student-athlete of the year. He highest sixth on the team in 2009-10 with 21 points, producing eight goals and 13 assists in 35 games.
The Dutchmen begin the season on Friday, Oct. 8 with a 7 p.m. game against Sacred Heart.
