Callies, Donohue score 15 each in Union's loss at St. Lawrence

Kyle Miller scored 20 points and Ralph Temgoua scored 10 with seven rebounds to lead the St. Lawrence men's basketball team to a 72-66 Liberty League win over Union College at Burkham Gym Friday night. The Saints are now 2-1 in the league and 6-7 overall, while the Dutchmen fell to 8-7 and 0-4 in league play.

Garrett Sharlow and Nick Meunier each scored 13 points with five rebounds for the Saints, who shot 50% and forced 15 turnovers. The Saints only turned the ball over seven times.

Union was led by sophomore Keven Donohue and freshman Keith Callies, as both scored 15 points each. For Callies, it was a career high. Evan Croll added 10 points and Matt Covucci had seven rebounds and seven points. Donohue and Drew Goldstein each had six rebounds.

The Dutchmen trailed 38-25 at halftime. Callies hit a three with 17:49 left to make it 40-30. A three pointer by Croll with 9:50 left made it a 10 point game again later on, 58-48. Union got to within eight with 38 seconds left on a jumper by Donohue, but after a free throw by the Saints with 16 left, Petrone hit a three with four seconds left to get to within six before the time ran out.

Union is at Clarkson Saturday at 4 p.m.
