TROY, NY --The Sage College's women's volleyball team hosted the Dutchwomen of Union College in the fifth annual Crank for a Cure Match at the Neff Center on Tuesday night. Union collected the 3-0 win (25-15, 25-14, 25-16) to improve to 17-11 on the season. Sage drops to 12-18.
Union's senior outside hitter Eve Richards finished the night with 15 kills and 12 digs. Among one of her kills in the second set was her 1,500th career kill, becoming just the second player in program history to reach the plateau. The only other player to accomplish the 1,500 kill mark is Corinn Jordan, who finished her career with 1,839 kills from 1999 through 2002.
Sophomore Mackenzie Westfall added 22 setting assists for Union, while sophomore defensive specialist Marissa Vollmer added 14 digs.
Union will feature Senior Night on Friday, when the Dutchwomen play two matches at the Viniar Athletic Center for Liberty League match play. The Dutchwomen face Clarkson at 5 p.m. and St. Larwence at 7:30 p.m. Other action will feature RIT vs. Skidmore at 5:30 p.m. and Clarkson faces RIT at 7:30 p.m.
