SCHENECTADY, N.Y. – The St. Lawrence field hockey team scored two unanswered goals in the second half to earn a 3-1 win over Union on Saturday, Oct. 22, at Frank Bailey Field. The Saints improve to 8-7 overall and 2-4 in Liberty League play, while the Dutchwomen drop to 0-6 in conference action and 2-13 on the season.
St. Lawrence got on the board first off a penalty corner, 19:25 into the game. Erika Swits inserted the ball to start the play, and Emma Berry took it just outside the top of the circle. She sent a hard pass toward the goal, where the ball was picked up by Taylor Vogt. Vogt quickly handed it off to Ashley Ferenczy, who found the back of the cage for her fifth goal of the season.

In the second half, St. Lawrence scored twice to seal the victory. The first goal came 53:39 into the game when Ferenczy shot toward goal from just inside the circle and beat Union keeper
Molly McCune for her second score of the game. SLU's second goal of the half was scored by Courtney Cartier off a rebound with 5:50 left on the clock.
Nicole Matos made 9 saves in the win for St. Lawrence, while McCune finished with eight stops. The Saints had 16 penalty corners and the Dutchwomen had 11. SLU outshot Union, 20-16.
The Dutchwomen host SUNY Oneonta at 4 p.m., Friday, Oct. 28, at Frank Bailey Field. Union's final game of the season is the next day, 12 p.m., Saturday, Oct. 29, against Wheaton at Schenectady's College Park. St. Lawrence is home against Cortland State at 4 p.m., Tuesday, Oct. 25.
