UTICA, NY -- Keven Donohue had his second straight 25 point game and
Rusmir Dzanko had 17 points to lead the Union men's basketball team to an 81-74 victory at SUNYIT in the Campus Center Gym Wednesday night.
The Dutchmen improved to 2-1 while SUNYIT fell to 0-4.
SUNYIT's T'Andre Richrdson scored 32 points for the hosts. SUNYIT was up 21-12 at one point in the first half, and played neck-and-neck with the Dutchmen until a 19-0 run in the second half, which saw the Wildcats go from up one to down 18 over a six-minute stretch. Richardson made 14 of his 17 shots from the flor and Yhashin White added five assists.
The Dutchmen also got 11 points from
Evan Croll, and eight points from
Keith Callies. Alex Grimmer had 14 points and Justin Brignola added 10 points for SUNYIT.
Joe Mason dished out five assists.
Donohue posted the double double with 13 rebounds and helped lead Union to a dominant performance off the glass, 41-27. He had nine of his rebounds on the defensive end, and also recorded a game high five steals. It was Donohue's fourth career double double.
Union shot 46% for the game while SUNYIT shot 52%. The Dutchmen forced 17 turnovers.
Union is back in action Saturday at SUNY Cobleskill at 3 p.m.
