Box Score

MONTCLAIR, NJ --
Senior forward Devin McNamara had a hand in all three goals, scoring twice and assisting on the other as Montclair State won its third straight, beating Union College, 3-0 at Sprague Field on Wednesday evening.

Junior forward Kate Norgard scored the first goal, her third in the last two games, as MSU held the Dutchwomen to three shots, including none in the second half in upping its record to 3-0 on the young season.

Sophomore goalkeeper Mary McCune stopped nine shots for Union, which fell to 0-2 on the year. Isabel Zellweger had two of Union's three shots.

Montclair outshot Union 23-3 in the game, including 21 of the final 22 in the contest. Despite the advantage, the Red Hawks only owned a one-goal lead at the half. Norgard snapped the scoreless tie at the 19:49 mark. Off a penalty corner, Jennifer Tafro fired a shot from the left side toward the far post where Norgard was able to poke a shot past McCune and two defenders for the goal, her third of the year.

In the second half, McNamara accounted for the first of her two scores just over six minutes into the period. Brittany Carroll chased down a long ball along the right side and moved in on a 2-on-1 with McNamara. Carroll slid a pass across to McNamara, who got off a shot inside the left post extending Montclair State's lead to 2-0.

McNamara completed her evening with her second goal nine minutes later. Michelle Hagel fired a shot from the top of the circle that McCune knocked away. However the ball bounced over to the left side where a waiting McNamara was there to tap in the rebound for her third goal of the season.

Goalkeeper Megan Bosland collected the shutout, her second in as many games.

Union will remain on the road for a game Saturday at WPI.
