CANTON, NY -- Kyle Miller converted three free throws with :06 seconds left in regulation to deliver the St. Lawrence University men's basketball team a 68-66 victory over Liberty League opponent Union College on Saturday evening in the Burkman Gymnasium. Ralph Temgoua accounted for nearly half of the Saints points, as scored a career-high 31 points on 11-of-19 shooting.

The win is the third in a row for the Saints who improve to 8-7 and 4-3 in the league. Miller finished with 12 points, while Terry Parham recorded 10 points and dished out five assists. Union, led by three in double-figures, falls to 9-6 overall and with a 2-5 mark in the league. Terell Winney had 18 points, while Keven Donohue and Joe Mason added 17 and 12 points, respectively.

A layup by Parham gave St. Lawrence a 65-62 lead with under 2:00 minutes left in the game, but layups on back-to-back possessions for Union gave the visitors the 66-65 advantage with :38 seconds remaining. Temgoua allowed time to dwindle before he drove the lane and dished to Miller on the perimeter who launched a 3-pointer but was fouled by Winney. Miller sank all three free throws to give the Saints a 68-66 lead. Mason dribbled the length of the floor and layed up a tying bid but it did not fall, allowing the home team to pull out the victory.

St. Lawrence led at halftime, 33-27, but there were six lead changes throughout the duration of the game. The Saints had a slim advantage in rebounds (31-30), while forcing 13 Dutchmen turnovers to six of their own.

The Scarlet and Brown will travel to Saratoga Springs on Tuesday to take on Skidmore. Meanwhile, Union will host RIT in Schenectady.
