Box Score

POTSDAM, NY -
An early goal and a consistent offensive attack helped lead the No. 13 Union College women's soccer team to a 3-0 victory over the Clarkson at Hantz Turf Field.

Union improved to 11-1 and 3-1 in league games while Clarkson saw their overall mark evened at 5-5-2, while falling to 0-4-1 in conference games.

Sophomore forward Mollie Gilchrist scored a pair of goals, including what proved to be the game-winner in the opening 10 minutes of the contest. Connecting on a pass from junior forward Melissa Mansfield, Gilchrist scored at the 7:15 mark of the first half and that was all that the Dutchwomen would end up needing.

Gilchrist scored another goal early on in the second half in the 47th minute, again on a pass from Mansfield. In the waning moments, senior midfielder Michaela Katz converted a pass from junior forward Laura Snowden for the final 3-0 tally.

Clarkson's Kim Kenline made seven saves for the Knights, while senior goalkeeper Kayla Marti picked up three saves for the shutout. Union owned a 24-11 edge in shots and a 7-4 advantage in corner kicks.

The Dutchwomen will take on St. Lawrence tomorrow afternoon at 2:00 p.m.
