ANNANDALE-ON-HUDSON, NY – The Union College men's soccer team earned its first Liberty League win of the season with a 5-0 victory over Bard College on Saturday afternoon.
Union senior
Sebastiaan Jansen, who entered the game as the leading scorer in the Liberty League and fifth in the nation in goals scored, finished with three goals and two assists as the Dutchmen improved to 8-3 overall, 1-2 in the Liberty League.
In the first half, Jansen scored in the third, 18
th and 39
th minutes, and he assisted on a goal by
Nicholas Hall-Risko in the 29
th minute. It was Hall-Risko's first goal of his collegiate career.
Union outshot Bard 11-2 in the first half, and it was 4-0 at the break.
Early in the second half, Jansen found
Jeff Cohen alone for Cohen's first goal of the year to finish the scoring. Bard (2-9-2, 0-4) was outshot 23-8.

Jeff Guinn becomes the all-time leader in wins for the Dutchmen men's soccer program with 149, passing Bob Magee.
Ryan Carter and
Andrew Rouff split the goaltending duties for Union. They finished with one save apiece. Union next hosts Clarkson on Friday at 4 p.m.
