SCHENECTADY, NY -- Freshman guard/forward Samantha Graber scored 15 points and senior guard Madie Harlem had 14 to lead Hamilton College to a 68-49 non-league women's basketball victory over Union College at the Viniar Athletic Center Wednesday night. The Continentals improved to 1-3 on the young season while the Dutchwomen fell to 1-3 after their home opener.
Four visitors scored in double figures including Dani Feigin (13) and Eliza Howe (12). Howe had a team high seven rebounds and Harlem pulled down six for the Continentals, who forced 23 turnover to offset 39% shooting. Hamilton had a 41-36 rebounding advantage and got three assists each from Howe and Harlem.
Union was led by Brittany Kenney, who matched Graber for a game high of 15 points. Kenney also had eight rebounds, all on the defensive boards.

Kelsey McDonald dished out three assists with her seven points. Union shot 40% for the contest.
Hamilton had a 33-26 lead at halftime but the Dutchwomen opened the half with a run of 12-5 in 4:31 to tie the game. A Thompson layup with 15:29 left to play int the second half made it 38-38, and it was 40-40 on a Kenney layup with 14:22 remaining. But Hamilton opened it up with an 18-6 run in a span of the next seven minutes, eight seconds. A Feigin three pointer capped the run with 7:14 left to make it 58-46 Hamilton, and the largest lead came with a Harlem layup with three minutes remaining that provided the final score.
Union has another home non-league game on tap this Saturday at 2 p.m. against SUNY Cobleskill.
