ANNANDALE-ON-HUDSON, NY – The Union College women's basketball team cruised to a 68-15 win over Bard College on Friday night in Liberty League action.
Everyone who played for Union scored, led by sophomore
Kristin Schmidt, who finished a career high 16 points along with 10 rebounds and two blocks. Schmidt went 8-for-8 from the field, and Union shot 56 percent from the field in the game.
Senior
Rachel Beaulac added 10 points and nine rebounds for Union (9-10 overall, 5-6 Liberty League).
Meghan Erdman added nine points and
Kate Thompson scored eight.
Kim Derosier posted a career best five assists. The Dutchwomen next play at Vassar on Saturday afternoon at 2 p.m.
Union had a 29-6 lead at halftime, with the largest lead coming with 1:19 left on a Schmidt jumper to provide that score. Union led by as many as 53 with 4:26 left and with the final, aftera jumper by
Kelsey McDonald with 2:09 remaining.
Bard (0-10, 1-18) got nine points and eight rebounds from freshman Liz Freud. The Raptors host Skidmore on Saturday afternoon at 2 p.m.
