SARATOGA SPRINGS, NY - The Union College men's lacrosse team (10-3, 5-1 Liberty League) clinched the No. 2 seed in the Liberty League playoffs with a 16-4 win over Skidmore (5-10, 1-5 Liberty League) on Saturday at Wachenheim Field.
The win was Union's first at Skidmore since
Paul Wehrum became head coach in 2007, and first in over a decade.

Nolan Connors had four goals each for the Dutchmen. Senior midfielder
Nick Alfonzetti added a pair, while sophomore attack
Rob Santangelo had a goal and three assists. Union had 12 different players pick-up points.
Union scored the game's first five goals and eight of the first nine on the way to the win. The Dutchmen held a 28-18 advantage on ground balls.
Skidmore got goals from Jeff Caruso, Tony Baum, Ryan Paradis, and Josh Berger. Paradis won 13 of 21 faceoffs and had a game-high eight ground balls.
Senior goalie
Sean Aaron had 11 saves in 48:03 for the Dutchmen. Freshman goalie
Stefan Basile made three saves on three shots, and sophomroe Devyn Jefferies also saw action in net for Union.
Skidmore's Matt Diaco took the loss in net he had nine saves in the first three quarters. Drew Butturina and John Southerland each saw time in the fourth, with Butturini credited with four saves.
The Dutchmen will take on No. 3 seed St. Lawrence next Friday at Frank Bailey Field.
