SCHENECTADY, NY - Former Union College defenseman
Nolan Julseth-White '12 signed a professional contract with the Las Vegas Wranglers of the ECHL, the organization announced today.
“Nolan was the captain at Union, and besides being a tremendous leader, he also brought a very good presence to the back end,” said Wranglers Head Coach and General Manager Ryan Mougenel. “Nolan is on the AHL radar and will start his career with us due to the uncertainty of the NHL lockout. He's one of those special players whose leadership and character are well documented.”
Julseth-White, who served as captain during the 2011-12 season, helped Union advance to the Frozen Four for the first time in program history, a run that included the school's second consecutive Cleary Cup as ECAC Hockey regular season champions, and first-ever Whitelaw Cup as ECAC Tournament champions. Julseth-White was a key cog on a defense ranked No.1 in the nation, allowing just 1.83 goals/game. He was one of three Union defensemen to appear in all 41 contests during the season.
A native of Chilliwack, British Columbia, Julseth-White notched 18 assists in 100 games over his career. He received the Athletic Director's Award for Leadership at the end of his senior year.
