The Dutchwomen overcame a 1-0 halftime deficit by matching their highest offensive output of the season for the second time this week. On Monday, UC defeated Castleton State, by an identical 3-1 margin.
Despit being outshot, 10-4, in the first half, Hartwick (5-4-3) jumped to an early lead. Kylie Thayer's corner kick in the 49th minute found Nicolette Wilson in the box, who headed a shot into the upper corner of the net.
Mollie Gilchrist sparked Union's comeback at the 53:40 mark, accepting a long pass from
Kelsey Fish (that originated from just inside mid-field) and placing a low shot past goalkeeper Hope Brown. Brown kept the game close with 10 saves, many from point blank.
Whitney Bickford launched a game-high seven shots, including four on net as Union finished with 18 total shots in the contest.
Emily Hamilton provided the game-winning goal in the 68th minute when she turned inside the box and buried a diagonal feed from
Jenna Cornwall. Senior
Melissa Scinto provided an insurance goal at 78:46 off a direct kick that found its way through the Hawks' defense.
Union (8-4-0) continues its homestand this Saturday, hosting Elmira at 2 p.m.
