SCHENECTADY, NY – The Union College women's volleyball team swept both their Liberty League matches against Vassar (3-0) and Bard (3-0) on Friday evening at the Viniar Athletic Center. The Dutchwomen dominated on court one by blanking both Liberty League foes. With the wins, the Dutchwomen climb to 6-2 in Liberty League play and 17-7 overall.
The Dutchwomen didn't allow Vassar to reach 20 points as they defeated the Brewers in straight sets 25-19, 25-8 and 25-15. Sophomore
Rachel Wyman led the Dutchwomen attack with 11 kills. Junior

Lauren Woods combined or 18 more kills as they chipped in nine a piece. Senior
Marissa Vollmer once again led the Dutchwomen defense by collecting 13 digs. Freshman
Amanda Price dished out 20 assists while also registering four service aces.
The Dutchwomen continued their domination in their second match against Bard. Union didn't allow the Raptors to reach more than 16 kills in the three sets. They finished off Bard quickly with scores of 25-13, 25-14 and 25-16. The Dutchwomen offense was spread evenly as four players with six or more kills. The Dutchwomen also recorded 14 service aces with senior
Mackenzie Westfall leading the way with four. Westfall and fellow senior
Kelly Sheehan led the defense with 8 digs a piece.
The Dutchwomen remain undefeated at home, improving their record to 7-0. The Dutchwomen look to continue the home momentum tomorrow as they will take on Liberty League foe RIT for the first time this season. The Dutchwomen will honor their three seniors in the final home match of the season that begins at 2:30.
