SARATOGA SPRINGS, N.Y. - The Union College women's volleyball team fell to New Paltz 3-2 (18-25, 25-20, 15-25, 27-25, 9-15) in the first match of the Skidmore Invitational. The Dutchwomen drop to 20-9 on the season following the Friday afternoon loss.
The Dutchwomen made a valiant comeback in the fourth set but were unable to complete the comeback as the Hawks took the decisive set 15-9.
The sophomore duo of
Kelley White and
Marissa Vollmer led the Dutchwomen attack with 15 and 11 kills respectively. Senior
Marissa Vollmer continued her stellar season by registering 31 digs. Vollmer leads the Liberty League in digs per set. Sophomore
Lauren Woods lead the Dutchwome in blocks with 8 while freshman setter Amand Price dished out 23 assists in the match.
The Dutchwomen return to action tomorrow at the Skidmore Invitational. They take on Fredonia State at 1 p.m. and Kean University at 3 p.m.
