ROCHESTER, NY – Robert Lyles scored a game high 32 points and had eight rebounds to lead SUNY Fredonia to a 98-89 win over Union at the Nazareth College Tournament Friday night. It was the season opener for both teams.
Kevin Federation scored 18 and Alexander Grace and John Kovach had seven rebounds each for Fredonia, which shot 41% for the night and had a 47-35 rebounding advantage.

Union was led by newcomer
Kevin Weckworth, who scored 29 points and was nine for 12 from the floor. He made all eight free throw attempts.
Terell Winney scored 22 and had a team high eight rebounds and
Keith Callies tallied 12. Union shot 55% for the game and was 74% from the line.
Fredonia took a 50-42 lead into the half. A three pointer by Winney gave Union a 63-61 lead with 13:42 left in the second half, and the Dutchmen led by as many as 12 at 81-69 after two free throws by Weckworth with 6:55 left. But Fredonia got the lead back at 4:18 (85-83) and the Blue Devils never relinquished the lead.
Union will play in the consolation game of the tournament Saturday at 2 p.m.
