CLERMONT, FL -- Emily McGrail and
Tory Cameron scored four goals each to lead the Union women's lacrosse team to a 19-15 non-league victory over Oneonta State Wednesday. It was Union's first win of the young season as the team closed out the Florida trip.
Maggie Comiskey tallied three goals and
Jessica Farland,
Brittany Fraser and
Heather Fraser scored two each for the Dutchwomen, while
Kim Grinhaus made 10 saves in the Union net.
Annie Nelson and
Michele Guyette each scored a goal for the victors.
The Red Dragons were led by Caroline Tulley's five goals and six assists, and Kiera McNally scored three with two from Jillian Donodeo. Laura Grose made three stops in over 54 minutes and Frankie Wilson made a save in over five and half minutes of work.
Union had a 32-31 shot advantage and also a 21-17 ground ball advantage. The Dutchwomen won 19 of the 34 draw controls and converted on six of eigh free positions. Union led 9-8 at halftime, and the Dutchwomen trailed 14-13 wiht 16:48 left before
Brittany Fraser scored to tie it at 15:111 and give Union the lead for good at 14:38.
The Dutchwomen open the home and Liberty League season Saturday against William Smith.
