WILKES BARRE, PA -- The #5 Salisbury University field hockey team downed Union College, 7-0 in the championship game of the Colonel Classic Tournament at Wilkes University Saturday.
The Gulls had 24 shots for the game and Union goaltender
Molly McCune made eight saves on the day. Seven different Salisbury players scored in the contest, and the Gulls had a 5-0 lead at the half. Union's
Nicole Merigliano had the team's shot on the goal in the game. Salisbury recorded 17 corners for the game.
Union opens the home season Tuesday at Frank Bailey Field. The Dutchwomen will host Babson College at 1 p.m.
