ROCHESTER, NY - The Union College women's basketball program improved to 3-0 on the season with a 59-27 win over Goucher in the opening round of the Woodcliff Hotel and Spa Invitational on Saturday afternoon.
11 Dutchwomen found the scoring column led by
Kate Thompson's game-high 11 points. She added four rebounds to go along with two blocks to lead the "U".
Natalie Leone pulled down 12 boards which topped both squads.
Erin Lyons tallied nine points and secured 10 rebounds in the win while
Jenni Barra added nine points of her own.
The Garnet and White held Goucher to 21.1-percent shooting from the field while Union shot 34-percent.
The Dutchwomen will play St. John Fisher for the Woodcliff Hotel and Spa Invitational title at 2:00pm on Sunday afternoon.
