ROCHESTER, NY - The Union College Dutchwomen lost their first game of the season, falling to host St. John Fisher 80-62 in the Woodcliff Hotel and Spa Invitational title game on Sunday afternoon. Four Dutchwomen reached double figures in the loss and
Natalie Leone tallied eight points and 11 rebounds.
Jenni Barra led all Union scorers with 13 points while the trio of
Cailin Schmeer,
Erin Lyons and
Kate Thompson all nabbed 10 points a piece. Thompson added six boards and three blocks
en route to being named to the All-Tournament team.St. John Fisher (3-1) closed out the contest on a 25-11 run over the final eight minutes of the Woodcliff Hotel and Spa Invitational championship game to hand the Dutchwomen their first defeat of the year.
The Garnet and White shot 52.1-percent from the field compared to the Cardinals 40.3-percent.
Union (3-1) will return to action on Wednesday night as they host Hamilton College at 7:00pm in the 2014 home opener inside the Viniar Athletic Center.
