ITHACA, N.Y. -- Third-ranked Union extended its win streak to four games with a 4-1 victory over #10/11 Cornell before a sellout crowd of 4,267 at Lynah Rink. In the process, Union (20-6-3) reached the 20-win milestone for the fifth consecutive season and retained its hold of first place in the ECAC Hockey standings, improving to 14-3-0.
Rick Bennett's squad also ran its record against Ivy League schools to 10-0 while improving to 10-1-1 against nationally-ranked opponents. Union never trailed in completing its season sweep of the Big Red (12-6-5, 8-5-4).
Union built a 2-1 lead in the first period, as all three goals were scored within a three-minute time span.
Kevin Sullivan started the scoring for Union, knocking in his own rebound at 11:48. Cornell answered on Jake Weidner's breakaway goal at 13:32, which was followed by
Matt Wilkins' wrister from the left circle at 14:25. Wilkins extended his points streak to four games.
Union increased their lead to 3-1 in the second period. After killing off back-to-back penalties, which includined being two men down for 45 seconds,

Colin Stevens stopped Weidner on the doorstop twice in the closing seconds and finished with 23 saves on the night.
Daniel Ciampini scored an empty-net goal with 26 seconds left in regulation to seal Union's 11th road win in 15 outings.
The Dutchmen lost the services of leading scorer
Daniel Carr in the first period after he took a hard check along the boards. He did not return to the game and is listed as day-to-day.
Union travels to Colgate tomorrow night for a 7:00 p.m. faceoff.
