CENTER VALLEY, PA -- Union College recorded its highest offensive output of the season in rolling to a 19-1 non-conference road win over DeSales at Fasching Fields.
Thirteen Union players scored in the contest, led by
Charlie Ross' four goals and
Nolan Stauffer's three goals. Eight other Dutchmen turned in multiple-point efforts to extend the team's winning streak to five games. The Dutchmen (5-1) led 4-1 after the first quarter, then proceeded to score 14 unanswered goals.
Union kept DeSales (0-6) off the board for the final 45:06 of the game as senior Devyn Jefferies earned the win in goal, making eight saves before giving way to
Brody Shea and
Sam Broda, who made their season debuts.
Coach
Paul Wehrum's team finished with a 54-19 advantage in total shots and controled grounds balls to the tune of 49-31. Tom Lawton went 9-for-12 on faceoffs for the Dutchmen, who were playing for the first time in a week due to final exams.
Union will take on Williams Wednesday (March 26) in Baltimore.
