SCHENECTADY, N.Y. – Union remains unbeaten in Liberty League after posting a 3-0 victory over Bard Saturday afternoon at College Park Field.
Whitney Bickford scored two goals, and
Breana Derella added a goal and assist as Union dominated in total shots, 32-0, not allowing a single shot on net.
Bickford's first struck at 12:26, heading a ball into the net off a corner kick delivered by Molli Gilchrist. Derella answered three minutes later, buring a shot from outside the box off a feed from
Sydney Keane. Bickford's second goal occurred at 57:53, a low shot from eight yards out that snuck inside the far post. Bard goalkeeper Kelsey O'Brien finished with 18 saves.

Brian Speck used 18 subsitutions, as all 29 members of the team saw action, including midfielder
Becca Kraus and goalkeeper
Nicole Chtchekine, who made their collegiate debuts. Veterans
Kara Modliszewski and
Kara Mashuta also made their first appearances of the year.
Union (6-1-1/1-0-1 LL) travels to St. Lawrence and Clarkson next weekend (Oct. 3-4).
