SCHENECTADY, NY -- Allison Troy scored a goal and assisted on another as Union College defeated Elms College, 4-0 in a non-league field hockey game Tuesday night at Frank Bailey Field. The Dutchwomen improved to 3-5 on the season while the Blazers fell to 1-9.
Union had a 41-3 shot advantage in the game, including 22 shots in the first half. The Dutchwomen also had a 12-1 penalty corner advantage for the game. Elms goalkeeper Samantha Alivno made 22 saves and Ka-Trell Andrews stopped one, while
Laura Aptowitz made the lone Union save in nearly 64 minutes of play.
Alexa Steriti opened the scoring for Union at 19:48 with a goal on a penalty stroke.
Jessie Mulvey notched her fourth of the fall at 49:30 with Troy's assist. It was a shot close in on the left side of the Elms cage.
Laura Pacheco made it 3-0 off a penalty corner with a shot seven yards out, and Troy capped the scoring for the day at 62:26 with a backhander off a corner, seven yards out.
Union completes a three game homestand Saturday when the Dutchwomen host Liberty League rival William Smith at 4:00 p.m.
