SCHENECTADY, NY - The Union College Dutchwomen fell to the fifth ranked Quinnipiac Bobcats 4-0 on Friday afternoon as they opened up the second half of their 2014-15 schedule.
The defeat ended the Garnet and White's season long three game unbeaten streak.
After a scoreless opening period, Quinnipiac found the back of the net three times in the second stanza on two goals by Shiann Darkangelo and a lone tally by Morgan Fritz-Ward. They would add another goal in the third period as Cydney Roesler converted for the Bobcats.
The Bobcats applied the defensive pressure throughout the game, limiting the Dutchwomen to just four shots on goal.
Union, however, won the faceoff battle 27-25 behind Erica Kelly's 7-10 record. Christine Valente also put forth a solid showing in the circle, going 12-8.
Shenae Lundberg posted 35 saves in the loss.
