Dutchwomen lose home soccer game to St. Lawrence, 2-0

SCHENECTADY, NY -- St. Lawrence University defeated Union College 2-0 in a Liberty League women's soccer game Saturday at College Park. With the victory, the Saints improved to 9-3-1 overall and 2-3-1 in the league while the Dutchwomen had a five game winning streak snapped and fell to 7-4-3 overall and 3-3 in league play.

The Saints had a 17-6 shot advantage and 5-3 advantage in corners. Erica Matteo made 10 saves in the Union net while Kelsey West made four stops for St. Lawrence.'

Lindsay Geier opened the scoring with her fourth goal of the year at 19:55 off a free kick. Emily DePoy assisted on the tally, and the Saints had a 1-0 lead at the half. Matteo kept the game to a one goal deficit for the Dutchwomen with seven saves in the first half.

St. Lawrence added insurance when Katelyn Daley notched her first score of the season at 51:55, with an assist from Katie Stames off a corner.

Union returns home for a league game against RIT Saturday, October 24 at 3 p.m. for Senior Day.
