ITHACA, NY.—The Union College women's ice hockey team tied Cornell 2-2 in overtime on Saturday afternoon.
The Dutchwomen were able to strike first as
Kelli Mackey was able to gain possession of the puck on a turnover in the blue ink, from which she skated a few strides and scored from the left circle in the first period.
Jessica Kaminsky followed suit after
Brandy Streeter broke it out to Kaminsky she skated down the right wing and cut it in and scored off the top shelf to enter the second period 2-0.
Unfortunately, Cornell was to place in two goals in the second period to tie it up. Which took the teams to overtime where no one produced a goal.
Union's goaltender
Melissa Black made 39 saves on the evening including 15 in the second period, giving her 97 saves on the weekend.
The Dutchwomen return to Messa Rink on Friday, Nov. 6 at 7 p.m. for their ECAC home opener against Clarkson.
