Dutchwomen Face Providence in Mid-Week Game

SCHENECTADY, NY-- The Union College women's ice hockey team heads to Providence College for a mid-week game on Tuesday at 7 p.m., at Schneider Arena. 

What's On Tap
The Union College Dutchwomen continue their road swing against Providence. The Dutchwomen are in search of their first win of the season as they dropped decisions against Harvard and Dartmouth two weeks ago. Providence is looking to add another victory to their record as they currently stand a 4-10-0 record, as they defeated Brown 6-1 on Saturday.   
 
Scouting Providence
The Friars have a 4-10-0 record this season. Brooke Boquist leads the team with nine goals and six assists for 15 total points. Christina Putigna ranks second in points with 14 (three goals, 11 assists). Followed by Cassidy Carels who has four goals and eight assists for 12 points. Goaltender Madison Myers has a 3.04 goals-against-average and .891 save percentage.  She has allowed 25 goals. Providence also has goalie Alanna Serviss who has a 3.18 goals-against-average and a .902 save percentage, along with Sarah Bryant who has a 6.80 goals-against-average and a .835 save percentage. 

Series Against the Friars
Providence is 1-4-1 against the Union since the first meeting on Nov. 28, 2010. Last season, the Dutchwomen and Friars tied 2-2 which ended in overtime. In 2012, Union posted their first victory over Providence, 5-2. 

More Stops for Black
Melissa Black had another tremendous weekend as she posted 38 saves against Dartmouth. On the season she has made 431 saves in 638:37 in between the posts, only allowing 24 total goals.
