Union Wins Liberty League Opener

BOCA RATON, FL – Union opened Liberty League action with a 15-4 win over Bard under the lights in south Florida.  The fourth-ranked Dutchmen remain unbeaten at 6-0.

Charlie Ross recorded his fourth hat trick of the season, extending his goal-scoring streak to six games.  Nolan Stauffer scored twice and Richard Gregory contributed three assists.  Freshmen Josh Freilich, Michael Adams, Andrew Liddle and Sean Pensavalle tallied their first collegiate goals while rookie goalkeeper Sam Bebout won his first career start.

Coach Wehrum used 39 players in the game; All-American goalkeeper Stefan Basile was the only player to not see action.

The Dutchmen scored seven seconds into the game and added six goals in the second period to open an 8-2 halftime lead.  Bard was kept off the board in the third period as Union scored five straight goals to put the game out of reach.

Union concludes is spring break trip against 12th-ranked Williams on Tuesday (March 24).
