Union Upends Rensselaer in Troy

TROY, N.Y. – Union extended its win streak to four games with a 14-9 victory over Rensselaer Saturday afternoon at East Campus Stadium.  As a result, Union's senior class remains undefeated (5-0) against its Capital District rival.

Just as important, 11th-ranked Union kept pace with league leaders RIT (4-0) and St. Lawrence (4-0), as the Dutchmen (3-1) stand alone in third place in the Liberty League Standings.

Richard Gregory recorded three goals, finishing a torrid week around the net with eight goals.  Kyle Mason scored two goals for the third straight game while a trio of Dutchmen improved on their goal-scoring streaks.  With three minutes left in regulation, Charlie Ross struck for the first time in the game, extending his goals streak to 12 straight games.  Tom Stanton and Adam Rosenthal had a pair of goals each to stretch their respective streaks to five and four games respectively.

RPI received goals from eight players, including two from Breanainn McNeally, who registered his team-leading 29th goal of the season.

Goalkeeper Stefan Basile improved to 9-2 on the season, making 11 saves.

Union next prepares for a showdown with second-ranked RIT on Wednesday (April 15) at Frank Bailey Field.
