Dutchmen Win Regular Season Finale, 14-9

SCHENECTADY, N.Y. – Union closed its regular season campaign with a 14-9 victory over Skidmore Saturday at Frank Bailey Field.

Coach Paul Wehrum's club will travel to St. Lawrence next Friday (May 1) for the Liberty League Semifinals.  It will mark Union's eighth-straight appearance in the league's postseason tournament.

On a day in which the seniors were honored, it was fitting that the Class of 2015 factored heavily in Union's win.  Senior Charlie Ross scored four goals, extending his goal-scoring streak to 15 games, while classmate Adam Rosenthal recorded three goals.  Senior captains Richard Gregory and Adam Sands also found the back of the net with shots, as Gregory reached the 20-goal plateau for the second straight year.

Senior goalie Stefan Basile made 10 saves and gathered eight ground balls in 50 minutes to action and senior captain Connor Hall won 13-of-18 faceoffs and collected five ground balls.

The 13th-ranked Dutchmen were lethal on man-up situations, cashing in on three-of-four opportunties.

Union is 14-1 at home over the past two seasons.
