MANKATO, Minn. — The Union women's ice hockey team dropped a 3-0 decision to Minnesota State Saturday afternoon at All Seasons Arena. The Mavericks captured the two-game nonconference series.
Union goaltender
Leah Patrick made 21 saves in her collegiate debut. The Dutchwomen killed all five short-handed situations and finished with 11 blocked shots, reaching double figures in that category for the second straight night.
Minnesota State received first-period goals from Katie Johnson and Annie Keys, then added an insurance goal in the second period from Amanda Conway.
Union was led offensively by
Jessica Kaminsky,
Erica Kelly,
Katie Laughlin and
Hannah Erickson, who had three shots each.
Union returns to the ice next Saturday (Oct. 3), traveling to UConn for a 7:00 p.m. faceoff.
