NEW PALTZ, NY— Ethan Strauss scored the lone goal to lift the Union College men's soccer team to a 1-0 victory over New Paltz on Tuesday evening.

The Dutchmen's John Weitzman had another save-heavy night as he made six saves in the first half alone.  

The teams battled back and forth through the first half and halfway through the second before Andrew Fontaine found Strauss to score the game-winning goal with just 13 minutes remaining on the clock.

Union has about a week off before heading to cross-town rival Rennesselar Polytechnic Institute on October 7 at 7:30 p.m.
