SCHENECTADY, NY-- The Union College women's ice hockey team heads to Brown and Yale to start the second half of ECAC competition this weekend. The Dutchwomen face Yale on January 22 at 3 p.m., and take on Brown on January 23 at 1 p.m.
What's On TapThe Union College Dutchwomen start the second half of their 2015-16 season with games against ECAC opponents Yale and Brown. The Dutchwomen are in search of their first win of the season as they fell to RPI on January 16. Yale is looking to add another victory after falling to Colgate on Jan. 16. Brown looks add another win after tying Cornell 2-2 (OT) on January 16.
Black's leading the PackMelissa Black ranks eleventh in the NCAA in save percentage. She ranks fifth in the ECAC in save percentage. Black ranks nineteenth in goals-against-average. Black collected her 750th save on the season last weekend against RPI. Currently, she has 770 saves in 1241:03 minutes between the posts. She averages 36.67 saves per game, only allowing 55 goals.Â
Scouting the BulldogsYale has a 5-13-1 record this season (4-7-1 in ECAC play). Mallory Souliotis leads the team with 17 points (three goals, 14 assists) followed by Eden Murray with 16 points (5-11-16) and Jordan Chancellor (5-8-13) and Krista Yip-Chuck (3-10-13) with 13 points. Goaltender Hanna Mandl has a 3.46 goals-against-average and a .882 save percentage, with a 5-11-1 record.
Scouting the BearsBrown has a 3-14-1 record this season (1-10-1 in ECAC play). Maddie Woo leads the team with nine points (one goal, eight assists) followed by Sam Donovan (6-2-8) and Bridget Carey (4-4-8) with eight points. Goaltender Monica Elvin has a 3.64 goals-against-average and a .905 save percentage and posts a 1-8-1 record. Netkeeper Julianne Landry has made appearances in 11 games, had a 3.48 goals-against-average, a .902 save percentage and a 2-6-0 record.Â
