SCHENECTADY, NY—The Union College men's hockey team heads back on the road this weekend to take on a pair of Atlantic Hockey opponents.
The Dutchmen (1-1-0) face American International (0-0-0) at 7:05 p.m., Friday, Oct. 14 before taking on Sacred Heart (1-1-0) at 2 p.m., Saturday, Oct. 15.
LAST WEEK
Union split its season-opening series at No. 11/12 Michigan last weekend. The Dutchmen scored two goals in the final 4:37 to secure a 4-3 come-from-behind win on Friday. Senior defenseman
Jeff Taylor netted the game-winning goal with 2:09 remaining, recording his third point of the game (2g, 1a).
Spencer Foo (2g),
Mike Vecchione (1g, 1a) and
Sebastian Vidmar (2a) all had multi-point games. Senior goaltender
Alex Sakellaropoulos earned his first win of the season, making 20 saves. Michigan posted a 4-0 win on Saturday behind two goals from James Sanchez, including a shorthanded tally, and a 31-save effort by freshman Hayden Lavigne.

UNION VS. AIC ALL-TIME SERIES
Union is 7-0-0 all time against the Yellow Jackets in its Division I era. The Dutchmen have scored four or more goals in all seven games and six or more goals in five of the seven contests.
UNION VS. SACRED HEART ALL-TIME SERIES
Union is 5-1-1 against Sacred Heart in its Division I era, and 4-0-1 in the last five meetings. Six of the seven previous matchups between the two teams took place at Union's Messa Rink. The lone road game in the series for the Dutchmen in the series was at the Frozen Holiday Classic on Dec. 28, 2014, hosted at the Webster Bank Arena in a neutral site contest.
BOUNCING BACK
Last Friday's 4-3 victory at #11/12 Michigan marked the first time since a 3-2 win against Clarkson on Feb. 28, 2015 that Union won when trailing after two periods. The Dutchmen were 0-10-2 when trailing after two last season and were outscored 34-31 in the third period.
