SCHENECTADY, NY - The Union College men's soccer team played to a 1-1 tie with rival RPI Wednesday night at College Park.
For the majority of the first half, the ball was bogged down in the midfield until the 34th minute.
Jason Miller raced down the left flank cutting it back inside before crossing it over to
Ethan Strauss who put it home and put the Dutchmen up 1-0 heading into halftime.
The first 20 minutes of the second half were scoreless. Then, the ball got played back to
John Weitzman. It slipped under his foot and the Engineers' Devon Baughen finished the chance to tie the game at 1-1 in the 66th minute.
Nine minutes later. Weitzman received a red card putting Union to 10 men for the rest of the game. The Dutchmen held strong at the back as his replacement,
Jonathan Graziosi made one save in the relief effort.
Neither team was able to capitalize on its chances in overtime as the game finished a tie.
Union is back on the pitch Saturday when it plays host to RIT at 2:00 p.m.
