SCHENECTADY, NY -Â Union hosts Penn State University at Messa Rink on Friday (Oct. 7) at 6:00 p.m. and again on Saturday (Oct. 8) at 3:00 p.m.
The Nittany Lions won both games in State College by a score of 3-0 last season. Union trails in the all-time series 3-4-1.
The game will be broadcast live at UnionAthletics.tv with Matt Dubrey filling in for Sam Sigal on the call.
Last time out, The Union College women's hockey team fell to University of Vermont at Messa Rink.
After Union goaltender
Kate Spooner made 13 stops in the first period, Eve-Audry Pickard was finally able to punch one home for the Catamounts just before the end of the first period. They would not look back as Vermont went on to win 5-1 handing the Dutchwomen their third lose of the season.
Taylor Willard netted the second power play goal of the for Vermont five minutes into the second frame.
Union's
Caitlyn McLaren cut the deficit in half ad she gathered the deflection from
Haley Shugart and flicked a wrister past Vermont goalkeeper Madison Litchfield. It was McLaren's second goal of the season while Shugart tallied her second assist.
After Penn State, Union hits the road for the first time this season as it travels to RIT for a pair of games. The first puck drop is scheduled for Friday (Oct. 14) at 3:00 p.m. while the finale is scheduled for Saturday (Oct. 15) at 12:00 p.m.
